The Men of St. Francis of Assisi hosted its monthly Men’s Prayer 
Breakfast on September 17 in the church's Parish Hall on 204 Dooley 
Street. 
The guest speaker was Dr. Glenn Berry addressed the men on the subject 
of Prostate Cancer.  He provided statistics on the number of men being 
diagnosed and those dying from the disease. Dr. Berry stated that with 
early detection men can be cured and live healthy lives.  Diet and 
physical well-being is attributed to the growth of the disease.  Men 
should watch certain foods and get the early checkup.  Dr. Berry stated 
that being aware of your health and practicing preventative medicine can
 reduce incidences of various diseases. 
Dr. Glenn Berry is a graduate of North Texas State University, Prairie 
View A&M University and the University of Texas at San Antonio 
Medical Branch. He is an Internest and is the Medical Director for the 
Owens-Franklin Health Center at Prairie View A&M University, a 
position he's held since 1987. 
Dr. Berry is married to Debra and they have three children - Nicole and 
Jessica, both medical students and Adrian a gymnastic coach; and a 
spirited grand son, Almando.
The next event is set of October 15 in the Parish Hall from 8:30 t- 10:30 a.m. The speaker has not been selected at press time.
The men of the community are invited to attend this special and free
