John W. Osby is the speaker for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Mr. John W. Osby is the speaker for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast set for November 15, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 204 Dooley Street in Prairie View.

Osby will share his experiences growing up in Houston's 3rd Ward as well as his involvement with the Prairie View A&M Foundation.

Osby has more than 34 years with DuPont in a variety of Engineering and Business Related roles. His current responsibilities as Regional Engineering Manager for the Gulf Coast and Western US, consists of leading the execution of all Capital Projects and programs.

John formerly served as the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Engineered Equipment and Engineering Services Contracts globally. After serving Advanced Fibers Systems product line as the Business Engineering Manager.

Following a brief stint with Brown and Root in Houston, John moved to South Carolina to join DuPont in the Construction Division and later moved into Engineering design for products such as Automotive Finishes, Lycra®, Kevlar ® and Nomex®. His tenure with DuPont has taken him to operations around the world including Japan, China and Europe.

In each of his domestic relocations, John has lead his church family in a capital campaign to build a new worship center.

John received a B. Arch from Prairie View A&M University and has completed several training and development from professional organizations.

He is Vice Chairman of the Prairie View A&M Foundation Board of Trustees and an active member of the University of Houston Civil and Environmental Industry Advisory Board. He is also a member of several personal and professional organizations including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he served as president of the Eta Gamma Chapter.

Osby is married to Jackie and they have two daughters Ashton and Kayla.

The members of the community are also invited to attend the Friday nights Bible Study and Christian Education at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall; and also attend services on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
