Prince is a member of the Waller Independent School District (WISD) Board, a position he has held since May 2009. He brings a wealth of educational experience and training to the board having served as a substitute teacher for Waller ISD and formerly served as a District Administrator and Coordinator of Student Services for Tomball ISD, a position that provides and opportunity for his clear decision making on policies and procedures that have an impact on WISD education.
Under his theme and platform of "Working for the Community through the Community," Prince has made a significant impact on programs and activities to enhance the students of the district to include managing an established After School Program for Waller ISD Students, managing an established Feeding Program for Waller ISD Students; serving as a Mentor for the young men of Waller ISD. Under his leadership, he has seen the Waller ISD become a Recognized School District and respected among county schools. For the past several years, Mr. Prince has been providing Radio Broadcast Coverage for Waller Athletics Boys and Girls teams on his own Community Radio Station - OpenMic Broadcast Network.
Always wanting to improve his administrative and management skills for the Board, Prince has led his colleagues with more than the required Continuing Education Units for the state of Texas since being elected in 2009. Additionally, as a dedicated and committed member, Prince posts a perfect attendance record for all Board Meetings since 2009.
Dr. Prince holds the Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication from Prairie View A&M University, Masters in Ministry from Kingdom Builders Bible Seminary, and Doctorate of Ministry from Kingdom Builders Bible Seminary.
Michael is a Pastor and Founder of Temple of Refuge Church of God in Christ and Founder of Never Ending Worship Bible Club (N. E. W.), an after school program serving Waller ISD since 2006. He is a Volunteer Coach and Mentor with the Waller County Baseball Association since 1996; served as a Chaplin and Vice President of Economic 4B for the City of Prairie View; President for the Missions Department Texas Southwest Jurisdiction COGIC. Additionally, he is a Radio Talk Show Host, former District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, Developer of P3. (Productive, Positive, Power) -- Program for At-Risk Students, Motivational Speaker and Author of several books and news releases. He is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, camping, outdoors, music, and “PEOPLE!”
Michael and his wife, Stephanie of 29 years and three children: Iesha (deceased), Mike II, Philip and Jasmine.
St. Francis of Assisi will also host the Houston Foodbank/Kraft Mobile Food distribution at the church on 204 Dooley Street on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The free fruits and vegetables distribution is available to anyone in need in Waller County Area. No qualifications required. Patrons are asked to bring bags, boxes or carts to carry the food items. Persons will be also able to sign up for other social services, i.e. SNAPS. CHIP and TANF, etc.) Please share this information with persons you feel will benefit from the service. Thanks for your assistance.
Members of the community are also invited to attend the weekly Bible Study on Sundays at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:30 a.m.
