Turnquest earned his bachelor’s of business administration from Prairie View A&M University in 1984. He is one of seven family members to attend and graduate from the university. He later earned the MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
A licensed certified public accountant in Texas and a chartered accountant in The Bahamas, Peter spent most of his career straddling Nassau and Freeport, with intermittent one and two-year stints in Charlotte, North Carolina; London, England; and Sydney, Australia.
Turnquest was in town with his wife who was visiting Houston and decided to return to the campus. Frank D. Jackson, university Government Relations Officer, provided a campus tour for Turnquest. Prior to the tour, they enjoyed lunch at Bistros and was joined by Frederick V. Roberts, one of the first Bahamians to attend Prairie View A&M University in 1973.
Turnquest was very pleased with the growth and development at the university and pledged to forge another relationship between the university and the people of the Bahamas.
