Dr. Baldwin’s undergraduate teaching course load includes Principles of Management, Small Business Management, Retail Management and the recently developed Sports, Entertainment and Event Marketing course. Baldwin also teaches a graduate course in entrepreneurship which culminates with the winning team participating at the at the OFC Innovation & Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition, a program that provides entrepreneurial opportunities and experiences to students, and helps them to look at the big picture and apply all of their conceptual & theoretical knowledge. His teaching experiences also include stints in graduate and undergraduate teaching at LeTourneau University, Concordia University and Our Lady of the Lake University.
Dr. Baldwin has more than twenty years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry with employment with SBC Corporation (AT&T) in management, marketing, auditing, industry analysis and external relations. He also had a stint in finances with the First City National Bank, Houston in Funds Management.
He has conducted scholarly and business research of Land Grant Institutions’ Impact on their Immediate Communities' Economic Development and Leadership; nonprofit Institution Accounting Internal Controls and community development efforts in Houston and surrounding communities. Additionally he has published several articles related to community development for the City of Houston and Waller County and its inclusive cities. He is the recipient of the Direct Marketing Association Fellowship and received the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and International Underwater Explorations Grant.
Baldwin previously served as the Director of the Community and Economic Development Graduate Program in the School of Architecture at university and also spend time serving as a business and economic development consultant with the Small Business Development Center.
Baldwin holds the Bachelor of Science in Business from University of Houston; Master’s in Business Administration from Amber University and the Doctorate in Business Administration, Nova Southeastern University. He holds membership in American Marketing Association and the Texas Association of Community and Economic Development.
