Texas Diocesan Financial Officers are speakers for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at St. Francis of Assisi

Texas Diocesan Financial Officers David Fisher and Linda Riley-Mitchell, along with Mark Browning of Extraco Banks in College Station are the featured speaker for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church on 2000 Phillip Street in Prairie View.

The focus of the event is on Legacy and Planned giving, Trusts, Wills and Estate. The event is open to men of the community and ladies are also welcome to participate in the fellowship and the free breakfast. Please call 936-857-3732 or write: stfrancispv@sbcglobal.net to confirm attendance.

David Fisher is the Director of Foundations for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas where he oversees the administration of four separate foundations: Church Corporation, Episcopal Foundation of Texas, Bishop Quin Foundation, and the Great Commission Foundation. He helps to direct the investments, mineral interests, and real estate for these organizations. David has been the Director of Foundations since 2007 and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) by the Investments & Wealth Institute.

David is an active volunteer in the community and has served in leadership positions across the non-profit and philanthropic sector with groups focusing on education, athletics, social service, performing arts, and healthcare. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Houston Philanthropy Circle, Trustee of the Baxter Trust and St. Agnes Foundation, and on the Governance Committee of the Investments & Wealth Institute. David earned a BA in economics and history from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife Amanda have been married for 25 years and have two daughters: Elizabeth, and Vivian. David and his family are longtime members of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.

Linda Riley Mitchell is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Formerly, she was Executive Vice President and CFO of the Chicago Housing Authority, the second largest housing authority in the nation. Ms. Mitchell has been CFO of the $10 billion Illinois State Board of Education and was CFO of McCormick Place Convention Center and Navy Pier. In the media business, she was CFO of the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Vice President of Finance Services of Tribune Company in Chicago. She began her career with Arthur Andersen & Co.

Ms. Mitchell is a CPA and a cum laude graduate of Marquette University. She completed the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Executive Leadership Program for Educators in 2008. Linda is a past member of the Board of Trustees of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Endowment in Austin, TX. She is one of the founders of Springboard to Success, a scholarship program for low-income students in Chicago. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Houston.

Mark Browning is a native of Beaumont with more than thirty years of trust and estate experience with banking organizations in Texas and with the Texas A&M Foundation. Currently a Senior Vice President & Trust Officer with Extraco Banks in College Station, TX, he is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Finance, and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (C.T.F.A.) from the American Bankers’ Association.

Mark’s civic service and engagement includes the Somerville I.S.D. Education Foundation, the Episcopal Diocese of Texas Church Corporation, Lamar University Foundation and the Voices for Children (C.A.S.A.) in Bryan, TX. He is a member of the Bryan Rotary Club and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan. He guest lectures at A&M and at Angelina College in Lufkin on trust banking and non-profit development. Mark and his wife of thirty-four years, Nancy, reside in College Station, TX and have three adult children, two grandchildren and two dogs.
